C-cat Algae harvesting machine

SMO has designed, automated, built and installed an algae harvesting machine for SBAE Industries from Sleidinge.

The purpose of the machine is to harvest algae that are grown in basins with running water. The algae themselves are grown in substrates (= culture trays with nets) on which the algae attach themselves. The machine travels fully automatically over the line, and one by one lifts the substrates out of the water to blow them out with water under high pressure (harvesting). This water with the algae is collected in a harvest bin that can be drained.
