Straightener for Tram Vehicles

For the Maatschappij Intercommunaal Vervoer in Brussels (MIVB), machine builder SMO had to design, produce and install a straightener for Tram Vehicles.

This straightener serves to straighten the bodywork of tram vehicles after an accident. The use of this construction provides great upward, downward and horizontal forces. Since the straightening bench had to come alongside an existing lubrication pit, a separate foundation had to be provided to absorb these forces.
